I am Somebody... Let the world know your name!
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” Muhammad Ali
“It has been an absolute pleasure working with Wari Lace. She displays such a professional and yet compassionate attitude towards us models.
Whenever I am represented by Wari Lace, I feel immensely comfortable, as I know that I am in good hands. Not only does she attend the jobs booked to over see things, but she also attends castings. I recommend the services of Wari Lace to all models that are serious about their craft.
I feel so elated that Wari Lace assisted me in getting booked for the Tata Naka presentation show. It is my first on schedule show that I have done for London Fashion Week. The show went extremely well and I have received so much exposure all over social media and in publications such as BFC, Vogue, Noctis and Hello! India just to name a few.”
“I was 18 and I hated the fact that I was curvy in a world where the skinny girls got everything. Modelling has always been something I wanted to pursue but I never thought I’d be accepted. Until one day modelling came looking for me.
Wari Lace, Founder of London Africa Cultural Event saw something in me that I was yet to see in myself. She asked me to model in her first modelling show, “I thought she was joking”. Wari who also modelled in the past, ensured me she would look after me and wouldn’t permit me any jobs I was uncomfortable with. Wari taught me how to catwalk, pose and be fierce on wherever I go “because you don’t know who is watching you”. 3 years later I have done work for Aunt Jackie’s hair products, Afro Hair and Beauty 2015 and LACE. Now 21 years of age, I understand that my curves are not my flaws but something among many things that make me beautiful. “
“Year after year I've wanted to gain some experience in the modelling world however I was hesitant. A friend introduced me to the company London Africa Cultural Event (LACE) and I haven't looked back since, I was told I was going to be participating at the London Africa Cultural Event 2015 which was held at the Hotel Russell. A day before the event took place my hair was styled at Hype Coiffure Salon I was taken downstairs were some of the models were and was styled by the great hairdressers. The hairstyle had been picked out for me according to my face structure and to say the least I was excited about the style Wari had chose.
The day of the show I met the other models, hairstylists, makeup artists and designers at Hotel Russell everyone was friendly and made me comfortable. It was great to see the diversity in the room from the designers and makeup artists coming from all around the world UK, France and Ghana. Being that it was my first show after my makeup was done I had some rehearsals with a catwalk trainer who gave me come comforting words to keep me at ease.
As the show started everyone was extremely supportive and cheering me on backstage as I walked on stage, it was a very enjoyable first show that allowed me to look forward to working with LACE and Wari. From the professional staff to the supportive models, I cannot wait for the shows to resume in the New Year.”
"Through Wari LACE I have been given the opportunity to model at London Africa Cultural Event catwalk shows, catwalk at Women at the Crossroads event as well as Afro Hair and Black Live 2015. Hair presentation for Aunt Jackie’s and Design Essentials hair products .
Wari has been a pleasure to work with. She is friendly, fun but extremely professional which I love as it makes things run more smoothly meaning less stress and more enjoyment."
“Wari has always been professional in the way that she keeps models informed with release forms and terms and conditions about any job. Her natural mother instinct makes her go the extra mile by making sure that models arrived at destination of any casting or shoots/shows and pushes them to be seen and discovered. She has got great communication skills and makes models aware of what the situation is.
Wari has booked me for high end fashion shoots and shows. I know that what I’m getting out of being with Wari LACE will get me more jobs and people with take me seriously as a full time professional model.”
