I am Somebody... Let the world know your name!
“Events like London Africa Cultural Event, are very important to me and other young working professionals as they give us aspiring stylists the opportunity to showcase some of our creative and vibrant ideas, which in a salon are usually faced with limitations. It also allows for professional connections and networking within the hairdressing industry. As a junior, I was delighted to meet Angela Plummer, a well respected stylist in the industry at LACE. I like the level she has taken braiding to and I’m very honoured to be working in the same arena with her and so many others.
Being shortlisted for the day event in 2014 for LACE, I was trained on many aspects of the hairdressing industry and going into the second year in LACE 2015, I was able to perform on my own accord. This gave me more confidence going in as a Junior as I was trusted to perform on my own able to demonstrate my potential and styles to the stylists and live audience showing my growth and the positive impact the experience has given me.
It was an honour for me to be called up on stage at LACE 2015, where CEO of LACE Wari Granville mentioned me as one of the future talents to watch out for within the industry. Just after LACE event I went on to win Black Beauty/Sensationnel Hair Awards 2015 as Newcomer of the year,”

“My experience with LACE is very privileged and blessed. Met different designers and models were honourable. LACE made my dream come reality. I want to do it again in the future.
I was bit concerned about my deafness may stop and affect my dream. With people support and love, I feel more motivated. I have had some contacts for my collections. My vision is that I want to set up fashion business in Ghana if God willing, were I can help and employ deaf people in Ghana and promote their talents to reality. I was treated by LACE very satisfied. LACE showcased my collection and it gave me exposure and for the next show I am hoping to get more exposure with my brand new exciting collection.”

“Wari has been a mentor to me ever since I first met her. She introduced me to LACE in 2013, and gave me the opportunity to showcase my work at her event after graduating from University in 2013. Being part of LACE, I have gained valuable experience, where I have made connections and got to show who I am truly as a fashion designer. She saw potential in me and that I could become somebody. Wari has encouraged me and supported me all the way and I’m very thankful for it. Being part of LACE has opened doors for me as a Fashion Designer and I believe that LACE is a great opportunity for young designers who wish to promote their work and show their talents.”
