London Africa Cultural Event promised to be more than a fashion show and they definitely delivered! The venue was an explosion of colour and culture from the exhibitors stalls to the wonderful art work that greeted you on the way in! There was a buzz to the college which intensified as the fashion show commenced. Everyone wanted their seat, to be a part of it. The designers were showcased in all their African glory and Michelle Escoffery entertained the varied audience of distinguished guests to inspired students.

The second edition of LACE took place on the 17th of October,in celebration of Black History Month..."BHM is an international annual month of recognizing and valuing the inspirational individuals and events that shaped black and African diaspora" and what better way to do so than to show case Africa fashion and arts in its fullness.

It was great to see people come together to support LACE and the cause it was a fantastic way to celebrate BHM, create awareness and get the Westminster Kingsway College students involved and inspired, which is what LACE is about.

"A LACE event is warm, classy, culture inclusive and exciting. I discovered amazing new designers and was proud to be a part of an exquisite celebration of African culture, history and heritage telling a story through cutting edge fashion, woven into our diasporic, modern experience. Everyone should have a bit of LACE in their lives! " Michelle Escoffery ~ LACE Host 2014
